Every morning this week the team at Montpellier Public Relations & Creative took part in the Mark Cummings County Quiz, testing their knowledge on all things Gloucestershire.

Guy Woodcock founded Montpellier back in the early nineties and being headquartered in Cheltenham meant that we needed to prove we knew our local knowledge.

When Monday came around we were feeling rather confident. Our team included an avid Gloucester Rugby fan, ready to take on any sport questions, a quick-thinking technical director, primed for those tricky ‘GCHQ-style’ riddles and word games and a Stroudie who rambles around the popular local walks (and pubs) at the weekend.

As the week progressed, Mark Cummings and the Gloucestershire listeners started noticing an amusing pattern. Our team repeatedly guessed the mystery voice, conquered the historical questions and walked all over the geographical county coordinate queries, but went to pieces when it came to our immediate surroundings. When asked how many full glazed windows are on our building? We couldn’t tell you. Whether our post box was on the right or left of our front door? No idea. The name of a hair salon practically opposite our building? A tree was blocking our view from the boardroom window!

Despite Mark Cummings naughtily trying to trick us, we managed to repeatedly score either an impressive eight or nine out of ten each day, which brought our final score to 42 out of 50 and propelled us into joint lead position next to Gloucester-based GB Solutions.

The quiz will continue to run until December 2018, when the joint two companies will either go head to head or each receive winning trophies. Congratulations to all the businesses for taking part so far and we can’t wait to see who comes out on top at the end!

Montpellier’s quiz team consisted of Guy Woodcock, Roger Taylor, Martin Thorne, Hay Brunsdon, Kate Nodwell, Katie Bartlett, Phil Cleave, Sabah Shaffi and Vanessa Ling.
